China loses to OAR, Britain in women's curling in PyeongChang Winter Olympics

PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- China suffered two losses in a row in the round robin session of women's curling at the PyeongChang Winter Games here Thursday.

The Chinese team, led by Vancouver Games bronze medalists Wang Bingyu and Zhou Yan, lost to Britain 8-7 after a see-saw game Thursday evening.

Earlier in the day, China also lost to the Olympic Athlete from Russia (OAR) team 7-6 in a close game.

Liu Jinli, second base of the Chinese team, said that there have been some regrets.

But she added that the Chinese team have learned from these matches and will try to do better in the upcoming games.

Ten teams feature in the women's curling competition of the PyeongChang Games, with the top four finishers from the round-robin to qualify for the semifinals.

Japan, with three wins in a row, ranked the first, while China, with one win and two losses, was in the seventh place for now. Enditem
