Olympic silver medalist Xu Mengtao advances to final of Winter Olympics women's aerials

PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- China's Olympics medalist Xu Mengtao advanced into the finals of the women's freestyle skiing aerials at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics on Thursday by ranking third in the qualification runs.

Xu, who claimed the silver medal in Sochi Winter Olympics four years ago, marked 99.37 points in the qualification 1 and directly entered the finals which will be held on Friday.

"This is not my perfect run," said Xu. "It is only 50 percent of me. But this is only a qualification, this is the first step of the whole competitions. Let's wait and see tomorrow."

Olympic Athlete from Russia Alexandra Orlova scored 102.22 points to lead the 12 final skiers, while Hanna Huskova from Belarus second with 100.45.

Defending champion Alla Tsuper, who is competing in her sixth Olympics, made a successful second run and managed to enter the finals by ranking first in the Qualification 2 with 99.37 points. Enditem
