Belarus reduces refinancing rate to 10.5 pct

Xinhua,February 15, 2018 Adjust font size:

MINSK, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- The National Bank of Belarus lowered its refinancing rate from 11 percent to 10.5 percent on Wednesday.

The interest rates on standing and bilateral transactions designed to maintain the current liquidity of banks are reduced from 12 percent to 11.75 percent, the central bank said.

The bank explained its decision with a positive situation in the economy, inflation slowdown, GDP growth as well as favorable conditions in foreign markets.

In 2017, the refinancing rate had fallen eight times, and its current change is the first this year. Enditem
