German shares gain 1.17 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 142.66 points, or 1.17 percent, to close at 12,339.16 points.
German energy group RWE won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.73 percent. European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 and Commerzbank rose by 3.18 percent and 2.61 percent respectively.
German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 0.99 percent. Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group down by 0.43 percent and 0.34 percent respectively.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 385.23 million euros (473.83 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
