Nearly two-thirds of Mongolian adults married: report

ULAN BATOR, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- A 61.1 percent of Mongolian adults are married, according to the marriage statistics released by the National Statistics Office of Mongolia on the occasion of Valentine's Day.

As of Feb. 14, among the population aged 18 and above, 61.1 percent are married, more than 30 percent are never married or single, the statistics showed.

Average age at first marriage for male is 26.2, for female is 24.2, increasing by 0.5 percentage points when compared with 2000.

Valentine's Day is celebrated on Feb. 14, a festival of romantic love when many people give cards, letters, flowers and presents to their spouses or partners. Enditem
