Esteghlal Held by Al Rayyan in ACL

TEHRAN, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Esteghlal was held to a 2-2 draw by Qatari Al Rayyan on Matchday 1 of the AFC Champions League Group D, Tasnim news reported on Wednesday.

In the match played at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha on Tuesday evening, Al Rayyan captain Rodrigo Tabata scored an own goal in the 7th minute.

Abderrazak Hamdallah equalized the match in the 18th minute and Tabata was on target 10 minutes later.

With nine minutes remaining, Al Rayyan went down to 10-man after Tabata was shown his second yellow card.

Esteghlal striker Ali Ghorbani found the back of the net with a header in the 88th minute. Esteghlal face Saudi champions Al Hilal on Matchday 2 while Al Rayyan travel to the UAE to play Al Ain. Enditem
