HOUSTON, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The American Petroleum Institute (API)reported Tuesday that U.S. crude oil inventories rose 3.947 million barrels for the week ending Feb. 9.
The API reported last week a 1.05-million-barrel decline of crude oil, along with a draw in gasoline inventories of 227,000 barrels.
Both the West Texas Intermediate and Brent, two major benchmarks in oil price, went slightly up by 0.02 percent and 0.18 percent respectively Tuesday evening, to 59.22 U.S. dollars a barrel and 62.83 dollars a barrel respectively.
Earlier last week, oil prices slid to a two-week low and was headed for its longest losing streak in two months as a plunge in global equities dragged other markets lower. Enditem
