ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa assured a regional military chiefs' meeting in Afghanistan on Tuesday that the Pakistani territory is not allowed to be used against any other country.
The comments came amid allegations by U.S. and Afghan officials that armed opponents of the Afghan government "use Pakistan soil for attacks across the border," which is denied by Islamabad. (Pakistan-Afghanistan)

DHAKA -- Bangladesh's top two cell phone companies bid nearly 500 million U.S. dollars on Tuesday to obtain spectrum for fourth-generation (4G) services as part of government's plans to expedite the launch of 4G mobile services.
The country's largest cell phone operator Grameenphone, 55.8 percent owned by Norwegian telecom company Telenor and 34.2 percent owned by local Grameen Telecom, bagged 5 Megahertz (MHz) spectrum from 1800 band at the price of 155 million U.S. dollars. (Bangladesh-4G-Bid)

NAY PYI TAW -- Myanmar government and two more ethnic armed groups signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Accord (NCA) in Nay Pyi Taw Tuesday.

KABUL -- Afghan government forces have adopted aggressive tactics and begun targeting anti-government militants elsewhere in the insurgency-riddled country, said a statement of National Defense Ministry released here on Tuesday.
Quoted the Defense Ministry spokesman General Dawlat Waziri, the statement asserted that currently 10 aggressive operations are underway in eight of the country's 34 provinces to eliminate the armed insurgents. (Afghanistan-Militants) Enditem
