PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Norwegian Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo bagged the gold medal in cross-country skiing men's sprint classic at the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games here on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old Klaebo finished the race in 3 minutes and 5.75 seconds to become the youngest Olympic champion in cross country skiing.

Klaebo was also the third Olympic champion from Norway in the men's individual sprint event.

"It means a lot. I think it has been a lot of pressure from outside the last couple of weeks and to be able to win here is unbelievable," Klaebo said. "It is quite cool to cross the finish line first. It is difficult to describe, everything has happened so fast and you are so happy."

Italy's Federico Pellegrino finished second in 3 minutes and 7.09 seconds. The bronze medal went to Olympic Athlete from Russia Alexander Bolshunov in 3:07.11. Enditem
