Early morning road crash kills four in Ghana's capital

ACCRA, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- A road crash early Tuesday claimed the lives of four commuters around Taifa Junction, a suburb of the Ghanaian capital Accra, Ghana Police have confirmed.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Afua Tengey, the Accra Regional police spokesperson, four people were confirmed dead in the crash with an undisclosed number also injured.

Eye witnesses reported that the accident occurred when the driver of the 23-seater Benz Sprinter mini bus on its way from Ofankor to the central business district of the capital lost control of the vehicle when one of the rear tyres burst and crashed into the concrete embankment along the Nsawam-to-Accra Highway.
