Singapore stocks close 0.89 pct higher

SINGAPORE, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed up on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.89 percent or 30.09 points to close at 3,415.07.

A total of 2.19 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.75 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.33 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 289 to 183.

The STI index closed up 0.23 percent or 7.74 points to close at 3,384.98 Monday. Enditem
