China's Zhang, Shi fail to qualify for men's half-pipe final in PyeongChang

PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese snowboarders Zhang Yiwei and Shi Wancheng failed in their attempts to get into the final of the men's half-pipe event at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics here on Tuesday.

Zhang was 15th among 29 snowboarders with 74.00 points, while Shi suffered errors in both runs and finished last. The top 12 competitors advance to the final based on their best runs.

American gold medal favorite Shaun White, winner in 2006 and 2010, led 12 finalists with 98.50 points in his fourth Olympic appearance.

He was followed by Scotty James of Australia and Japan's Hirano Ayumu. Enditem
