CAIRO -- Egyptian army announced on Monday the killing of twelve militants in the country's North Sinai on the fourth day of a comprehensive anti-terror military operation.

In a statement, Egypt's army spokesperson Tamer al-Refaay said 92 other suspects were arrested and 60 targets used by militants were destroyed during Monday's operations.(Egypt-Army-Anti-Terror)

GHAZNI, Afghanistan -- At least three people were killed and 15 others wounded in a road accident in Ghazni province, east of Afghanistan, on Monday, an official said.

"The incident happened in Moqur district of Ghazni province today (Monday) morning, after a passenger bus that was driving on a snowy road suddenly turned turtle, killing three commuters on the spot and injuring 15 others," Arif Noori, spokesman for provincial governor told Xinhua.(Afghanistan-Accident-Casualties)

ISLAMABAD -- At least 11 people were killed, including nine women, and several others injured in a deadly road crash in Pakistan's southern district of Hyderabad on Monday, said a senior police official.

Dost Mohammad Mangrio, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Hyderabad, said the accident occurred on Tando Muhammad Khan Road in the city when a speedy truck collided with a passenger van, killing eight people on the spot. Three of the injured succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital.(Pakistan-Accident)

NICOSIA -- Cyprus on Sunday accused Turkey of violating international law by blocking a drillship heading to a Cypriot offshore target to start exploratory drilling for natural gas on behalf of Italian energy giant ENI.

Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades said Cyprus is dealing with the violation by taking "necessary steps," without going into details.(Cyprus-Turkey-Dispute)

BAGHDAD -- A total of five people were killed Monday and six others wounded in gunfire and bomb attacks in the Iraqi provinces of Salahudin and Diyala, officials and a security source said.

In Salahudin province, unidentified gunmen at dawn broke in a house in al-Farhatiyah area, some 30 km southwest of the city of Samarra, and shot dead three family members before they fled the scene, Colonel Mohammed Khalaf al-Jubouri from the provincial police told Xinhua. (Iraq-Attack) Enditem
