PARIS, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- A 16-year-old schoolgirl died Monday morning in the collision between a school bus and a truck in Plougoumelen, Morbihan, northwest France, a regional newspaper reported.

The accident happened at around 07:15 a.m. local time (0615 GMT) when a truck struck the back of the school bus which was parking on the side of the road at the exit of Plougoumelen, Ouest France reported.

The crane-type truck propelled the bus 20 meters away, hitting the bus driver and the young high school girl, who were outside the bus, the report said.

The bus driver suffered a facial trauma while the truck driver was slightly injured, it said.

The cause of the accident is unknown yet. The bus, which was not carrying other passengers, may have encountered a technical problem that forced it to stop at the roadside, according to the report. Enditem
