Singapore stocks close 0.23 pct higher

SINGAPORE, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed up on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) wend up 0.23 percent or 7.74 points to close at 3384.98.

A total of 2.47 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.62 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.22 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 266 to 208.

The STI index closed down 1.13 percent or 38.66 points to close at 3377.24 last Friday. Enditem
