1st LD: 16 terrorists killed in Egypt's Sinai operation: army

CAIRO, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Up to 16 militants were killed and four others arrested in a major anti-terrorism operation launched by Egypt on Friday in Northern and Central Sinai, the Egyptian army said in a statement on Sunday.

Another 30 suspects were arrested, it said.

"The air forces targeted 66 hideouts and centers used by terrorists," the statement added, saying that 11 vehicles, and 31 motorbike, as well as three explosive warehouses were destroyed during the continuous raids. Enditem
