Spanish shares drop 1.20 pct Friday

MADRID, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 down 1.20 percent, or 116.70 points, to close at 9,639.60 points.

A total of 27 of the selected 35 large companies lost in the day.

Electricity company Endesa lost 2.06 percent, followed by Spain's seventh largest bank Bankinter and Spain's energy company Iberdrola that went down 2.01 percent and 1.84 percent respectively.

Engineering and infrastructure company Tecnicas Reunidas advanced 1.37 percent, being the top gainer of the day. Hotel chain Melia Hotels was up 1.20 percent and infrastructure company Acciona rose 0.81 percent. Enditem
