SEOUL -- A high-ranking delegation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea arrived in South Korea Friday to attend the opening ceremony of the South Korea-hosted Winter Olympics.

The white-color private jet carrying the DPRK delegation arrived at the Incheon International Airport in South Korea's western port city of Incheon at about 1:46 p.m. local time (0446 GMT), according to local TV footage.(S.Korea-DPRK-Winter Olympics)

SEOUL -- South Korea's top economic policymaker said Friday that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s participation in the 23rd Winter Olympics will have an economic effect as it eases geopolitical risks on the Korean Peninsula.

Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon, who also serves as deputy prime minister for economic affairs, told a parliamentary finance committee meeting that the economic effect from the DPRK's participation in the Winter Olympics will be significant.(S.Korea-Winter Olympics-Economy)

SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in met Friday with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visiting the country to attend the opening ceremony of the 23rd Winter Olympics, the presidential Blue House said.
