Spanish shares drop 2.21 pct Thursday

MADRID, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 down 2.21 percent, or 220.60 points, to 9,756.30 points.

A total of 33 of the selected 35 large companies lost in the day.

Steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal fell 4.15 percent, followed by infrastructure company ACS and chemical and pharmaceutical company Grifols that lost 4.04 percent and 3.91 percent respectively.

Electricity company Endesa advanced 0.53 percent, being the top gainer of the day. Hotel chain Melia Hotels and energy company Gas Natural showed no variation. Enditem
