JERUSALEM, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- A gunshot fired from Syria toward an Israeli military drone hit a house in the Israel-annexed Golan Heights on Thursday evening, the Israeli authorities said.

"Shots were fired from Syria at an IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) UAV," a military spokesman said in a statement.

No injuries were reported, but damage was identified in a house in Majdal Shams in the northern Golan Heights, he added.

Israeli troops were searching the area for remnants of the bullets.

Israel has been reportedly conducting intelligence flyovers in Syria and carried out several airstrikes on its military targets. Enditem
