TEHRAN, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Iran's capital Tehran will host a maritime conference next week, it was announced here on Thursday.

The 25th Conference of Iran's Maritime Organizations has been rescheduled and will be held at Tehran's Eram Grand Hotel on Feb. 13, said Ali Akbar Marzban, the head of Maritime Organizations' Coordination Secretariat.

During the one-day conference, a wide range of topics, including marine transport, port logistics, the role of the private sector in expanding maritime activity and marine environment, will be discussed, the official said.

The event was initially scheduled for Jan. 30-31 in the port city of Chabahar, but due to heavy snow at the time, flights to that destination were cancelled and so was the conference. Enditem
