YANGON, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- A Singapore Airlines flight has made an emergency landing at Myanmar's Mandalay International Airport due to engine failure, said a release of the Ministry of Home Affairs Thursday.

The plane experienced a technical glitch with one of its engines while heading from Bangladesh to Singapore at 03:35 p.m. local time on Wednesday.

The plane halted on the runway and was dragged to the airplane parking site.

The passengers were transferred to another flight on Thursday afternoon to continue their journey to Singapore's Changi airport.

Repairing of the engine is underway by a team of engineers who came along with the substitute flight. Enditem
