CAPE TOWN, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Thursday.
-- The African National Congress' parliamentary caucus will meet on Thursday for a special caucus meeting.
The caucus was called following recent events in Parliament, including the postponement of the State of the Nation Address, ANC spokesperson Nonceba Mhlauli said on Wednesday. (Fin24)
-- Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has been warned he could come off as looking weak in his handling of President Jacob Zuma's exit.
Ramaphosa and the African National Congress are under increasing pressure to act soon, with opposition parties saying if a decision isn't taken by Sunday evening they'll expedite a motion of no confidence in Zuma. (Eyewitness News)
-- President of the Congress of the People (COPE) Mosiuoa Lekota said on Wednesday the current political climate that South Africa finds itself in is the African National Congress' fault.
