China's trade surplus narrows in January

BEIJING, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's trade surplus narrowed in the first month of 2018, official data showed Thursday.

Trade surplus shrank 59.7 percent in January to stand at 135.8 billion yuan (21.6 billion U.S. dollars), compared with a 14.2-percent reduction registered in 2017, according to the General Administration of Customs.

China's exports increased 6 percent to reach 1.32 trillion yuan while imports surged 30.2 percent to stand at 1.19 trillion yuan in January. Enditem
