German shares gain 1.60 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 197.77 points, or 1.60 percent, to close at 12,590.43 points.

Sportswear maker Adidas won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.00 percent. Media company PriSiebenSat.1 and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group rose by 3.88 percent and 3.38 percent respectively.

HeidelbergCement lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.34 percent. Airlines Lufthansa and Muenchener Rueckv down by 1.24 percent and 0.60 percent respectively.

Deutsche Bank was the most-traded share with a turnover of 479.91 million euros (585.49 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
