JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Three militants of the Islamic State (IS) group were killed and another injured after the Afghan government forces pounded their positions in eastern Nangarhar province, a spokesman for the provincial government said Wednesday.

A number of arms and ammunition of the armed group were also destroyed during the operations conducted Tuesday in Nazian and Haska Mina districts of the province, spokesman Attaullah Khogiani said.

The IS group has yet to make comment on the report.

The security forces, backed by unmanned plane, would continue to target the hideouts of anti-government militants in the country. Enditem
