NAIROBI, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Wednesday.
-- The crackdown on opposition leaders continued on Tuesday when the immigration department revoked passports of 14 politicians who took part in the swearing-in of leader Raila Odinga as the "People's President". The government gave them 21 days to give up their passports, and they will be on the watch list and not be able to use them to travel. The law gives the government powers to withdraw one's passport if the holder gives it for use to someone else or if convicted of terrorism, money laundering, drug trafficking or any international crime. The individuals have vowed to challenge the order. (The Standard)
-- The government has withdrawn its offer of 10 percent share of oil revenue to host communities and now proposes they get 5 percent in a new regulation set to be debated in parliament. State's share, will however, not exceed quarter of amount allocated to county government. (Daily Nation)
