Belarusian president appoints new heads of central media

MINSK, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed new heads of central media, the press service of the head of state said Tuesday.

Lukashenko appointed Ivan Eismont as the new head of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company, Dmitry Zhuk as the head of the SB. Belarus Segodnya newspaper and Igor Lutsky as the director general of the STV channel.

The president expressed the hope that new leaders will radically change the work of the country's main media where it is necessary.

Besides, he said that work should be done "calmly, without revolutionary breaches, without some kind of personnel breakdowns".

Lukashenko also acknowledged that the central media of Belarus need changes. At the same time, he proposed learning the best foreign experience in the sphere of television work. Enditem
