British stocks down 2.64 pct Tuesday

LONDON, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 193.58 points or 2.64 percent at 7,141.40 points.

There was only two winners among the blue chips on the trading day. Tesco, a British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer, soared 0.58 percent. EasyJet, the major British budget airline, soared 0.09 percent.

Standard Life Aberdeen, the British asset management firm, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.10 percent. Schroders, a British multinational asset management company, dropped 5.06 percent. Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust dropped 4.95 percent. Enditem
