French shares drop 2.35 pct Tuesday

PARIS, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 2.35 percent, or 124.02 points, to close at 5,161.81 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 38 lost in the day.

Oil and gas firm Technipfmc tumbled 4.34 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. International French multinational luxury group Kering was down 3.78 percent and Steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal lost 3.61 percent.

The only two gainers, French tire group Michelin and Safran, French multinational aircraft engine, aerospace-component and defense company, rose 0.12 percent and 0.09 percent respectively. Enditem
