BEIRUT, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The United States has delivered military weapons worth 11.7 million U.S. dollars to Lebanon in the past week, the U.S. embassy in Beirut said on Tuesday.

The military deliveries from the U.S. to Lebanon included ammunition, grenade launchers, and Bradley Fighting Vehicles, the embassy said in a statement.

It stressed that the U.S. "remains committed to a secure, stable, democratic, and prosperous Lebanon."

With U.S.-provided weapons, equipment, and training, the Lebanese Armed Forces continues to develop combat capabilities to remain a nationally unifying force, a bulwark against extremism and terrorism, and the only legitimate defender of Lebanon," the embassy said. Enditem
