WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday attacked Britain's National Health Service (NHS) in a tweet, triggering a new round of twitter disputes with Washington's Transatlantic ally.

YAOUNDE -- At least six people were killed in an attack by the terror group Boko Haram on Sunday night in Cameroon's Far North region, a local source told Xinhua.

Five men and a pregnant woman were killed and two others were injured in the attack, which occurred in the Mayo-Tsanaga division of the Far North region, according to the source, who wanted to remain anonymous.(Cameroon-Boko Haram)

DAMASCUS -- As many as 500 people have been killed and wounded during the two-week-long Turkish military campaign against the Kurdish-held Afrin region in northern Syria, state news agency SANA reported on Monday.

The casualties have been taken to the Afrin hospital, said SANA, adding that 142 civilians were killed and 345 others wounded by the Turkish military offensive on Afrin in the northern countryside of Aleppo near the Turkish border.(Syria-Turkey-Afrin)

LAGOS -- The current outbreak of Lassa fever in Nigeria has affected 15 states with 105 laboratory confirmed cases, three probable cases and 31 deaths, Minister of Health Isaac Adewole said Monday.

Nigeria recorded 77 cases of Lassa fever in 2018 alone, said Adewole at the Emergency National Council of Health in Abuja, the country's capital.(Nigeria-Lassa fever) Enditem
