U.S. stocks extend steep sell-off

NEW YORK, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks closed sharply lower on Monday, extending a steep sell-off from the previous session.

The Dow sank 4.6 percent to 24,345.75, and the S&P 500 dropped 4.1 percent to 2,648.94, while the Nasdaq tumbled 3.78 percent to 6,967.53. Enditem
