NAIROBI, Feb 5 (Xinhua) -- Equity turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) went up on Monday, boosted by local investors' vibrant trading.

The investors mainly traded Equity Bank, CFC Insurance and Cooperative Bank to lift the bourse as they avoided Safaricom, making it lose the top traded stock spot.

The NSE 20 Share Index closed the session unmoved at 3,755.77 while the NSE All Share Index (NASI) stood at 181.91.

The most traded counters were Equity Bank, CFC Insurance, Cooperative Bank, Safaricom and KenolKobil, which moved about 6.2 million, 5 million, 4.2 million, 4.1 million and 3.9 million shares respectively.

Top gainers included Mumias Sugar, Boc Gas and Unga Group while losers included Uchumi, NSE itself, Athi River Mining and Eveready. Enditem
