2 Taliban commanders among 9 killed in E. Afghanistan

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Nine Taliban militants including two group commanders were killed after the Afghan government forces stormed their hideouts in the eastern Nangarhar province, a spokesman for the provincial government said Monday.

Two notorious commanders of the Taliban group, namely Ayub and Qasab (butcher), were also among those killed in the raid on Sunday night, spokesman Attaullah Khogiani added.

No security personnel was hurt during the raid conducted in Khogiani district of the province, he said.

Taliban militants have not commented on the report. Enditem
