Chinese senior official visits India

NEW DELHI, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Han Qide, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited India from Wednesday to Saturday at the invitation of All India Peace and Solidarity Organization.

Han, also president of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD), met with Indian Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M. Thambi Durai and Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Biman Banerjee respectively and exchanged views with them on promoting Sino-Indian relations as well as parliamentary and people-to-people exchanges.

Han and the Chinese delegation also held discussions with scholars and experts from Swami Vivekananda Foundation and Jawaharlal Nehru University. Enditem
