ROME -- At least six people were wounded in a drive-by shooting by an gunman in Italy's central town of Macerata on Saturday.

All the injured were foreigners, and the suspect was arrested shortly after the attack, according to local authorities.(Italy-Attack)

ISLAMABAD -- At least three army officers were killed and seven others injured in a suicide blast inside an army unit in Pakistan's northwest Swat district on Saturday night, officials said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations, Pakistani army's media wing, said in a statement that the attack happened in a sports area of the unit in Kabal town of Swat, a district located in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.(Pakistan-Army-Blast)

CAIRO -- An Egyptian archaeological mission has discovered an Old Kingdom tomb of a lady called "Hetpet" who was a top official in the royal palace during the end of the Fifth Dynasty, according to Egyptian authorities Saturday.

The tomb was found during excavation work carried out in Giza western cemetery, which houses tombs of the Old Kingdom's top officials discovered by previous archaeologists since 1842, Mostafa Wazir, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities said during the inauguration ceremony.(Egypt-Tomb-Archaeology)

PARIS -- Tariq Ramadan, a well-known Islamic studies scholar and Oxford professor, was charged with rape in France Friday.

The 55-year-old Swiss national faces two charges of raping two women in French hotels in 2009 and 2012. Following the accusations, he had been ordered to remain in custody in France.(France-Tariq Ramadan)

ANKARA -- A total of 84 Syrian refugees in their overloaded boat have been rescued off Turkey's Mediterranean province of Mersin, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Saturday.

According to a statement from Mersin Governor's office, the overloaded boat carrying 84 Syrians, including women and children, was stranded off Silifke district of Mersin when it ran into engine trouble on Friday.(Turkey-Syrian Refugee) Enditem
