Nigeria beat Sudan 1-0 to advance to African Nations Championship final

RABAT, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria have booked their ticket to the final of the African Nations Championship after beating Sudan 1-0 on Wednesday in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.

Nigeria will face hosts Morocco in the final on Sunday in Casablanca.

The sole goal of the game was scored by Gabriel Okechukwu in the 16th minute.

The Sudanese team pushed for the equalizer, especially at the last quarter of the match, but their efforts did not pay off.

Hosts and title favorites Morocco defeated Libya 3-1 in extra time to qualify to the final.

Sudan will meet Libya in the third place playoff on Saturday. Enditem
