Dollar changes hands in lower 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo

TOKYO, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- The dollar changed hands in the lower 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Thursday, principally in line with levels in New York overnight.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.19-20 yen compared with 109.13-23 yen in New York and 108.69-70 yen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.2417-2418 dollars and 135.58-60 yen against 1.2408-2418 dollars and 135.54-64 yen in New York and 1.2444-2445 dollars and 135.26-30 yen in late Wednesday afternoon trade in Tokyo. Enditem
