German shares close flat Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 8.23 points, or 0.06 percent, to close at 13,189.48 points.

German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp lost 1.33 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by tire specialist Continental and energy group E.ON, which lost 1.11 and 1.09 percent respectively.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 gained 4.38 percent, the top gainer. Multinational software corporation SAP advanced 1.39 percent. Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas went up by 1.38 percent.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most traded share, with a turnover of 536.66 million euros (668.51 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
