TEHRAN -- Nearly 300 people are in custody over charges of involvement in the recent riots in the country, Iran's Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said on Tuesday.

The judiciary is handling their cases, Rahmani Fazli said, adding that no university student is being held in custody in connection with the riots. (Iran-Riot-Custody)

LAGOS -- Lassa fever has claimed a total of 21 lives in its latest outbreak in Nigeria, Africa's most populous country, said Director General of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control Chikwe Ihekweazu.

LOS ANGELES -- At least three people were killed and two others injured on Tuesday when a helicopter crashed into a house in the U.S. state of California, authorities said.
