Germany plans to better support talented school students

Xinhua,January 31, 2018 Adjust font size:

BERLIN, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Germany initiated a decade-long project to create more development opportunities for talented school students Tuesday.

The German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and federal states decided to put together 125 million euros into this project in the coming 10 years.

The money will be used within regular teaching, regardless of the family background or gender of the sponsored students.

A total of 300 schools have been decided by the federal states in the first half project period to 2022. Their location, school type, proportion of immigrant students, etc. have been taken into account.

"Many unrecognized talented students sit in classrooms of different schools. We want to find them out and sponsor them early," said Johanna Wanka, Minister of the BMBF. Enditem
