Dortmund's Andriy Yarmolenko sidelined

Xinhua,January 31, 2018 Adjust font size:

BERLIN, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian international will be sidelined with a foot injury, the Bundesliga club announced in an official statement on Tuesday.

According to the club's statement, the 28-year-old striker will be ruled out "for weeks" due to a tendon injury, which he suffered in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Freiburg.

Yarmolenko's injury is a setback for head coach Peter Stoeger, who will have to find another striker for the upcoming encounter against bottom side Cologne in the Bundesliga opener on Friday.

Andriy Yarmolenko joined the "BVB" in August 2017 to score three goals in 16 appearances ever since.

After four consecutive winless games, Dortmund sit currently on the sixth place of the Bundesliga standings. Enditem
