British stocks down 1.09 Tuesday

LONDON, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 83.55 points or 1.09 percent at 7,587.98 points.

Reckitt Benckiser Group, a British health, hygiene and home products producer, soared 1.37 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Coca-Cola HBC and Informa rose by 0.96 percent and 0.87 percent, respectively.

The major British bank Standard Chartered was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.93 percent. Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust dropped 2.85 percent. Another major British bank Barclays dropped 2.84 percent. Enditem
