PHNOM PENH -- A Chinese construction company on Tuesday won a bid to construct a wastewater treatment sub-project in the town of Battambang province in northwest Cambodia.
Cambodian Minister of Public Works and Transport Sun Chanthol said the ministry awarded the 9.36-million-U.S.-dollar contract to the Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) after the firm won a public tender in November.(Cambodia-China-Project)

ISLAMABAD -- Several passengers were injured when a bomb went off near a railway track in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province on Tuesday night, local reports said.
The blast hit Bolan Express when it was passing by Dera Allah Yar area of the province, the local ARY News reported, adding that four to five compartments of the train derailed in the explosion.(Pakistan-Bomb blast)

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a request for the release on bail of Australian filmmaker James Ricketson, who was arrested in June last year on the charges of espionage, according to a verdict.
"The Supreme Court denies bail for James Ricketson and decides to uphold the Appeal Court's decision to detain him," Supreme Court's Judge Soeung Panhavuth said as he pronounced the verdict, adding that the Appeal Court's decision was in accordance with the law.(Cambodia-Australia-Filmmaker)
