Guangsha beat powerhouse Shandong to secure a seven-game winning streak

BEIJING, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Hu Jinqiu's game-high 30 point haul helped Guangsha beat Shandong 110-104 and extend its winning streak to seven in a row in the 33rd round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Tuesday.

The CBA leader Guangsha took the lead easily, scoring 14 unanswered points at the very beginning of the match. However the visiting team cut the deficit to one by the end of the first half.

Strengthening its attack, Guangsha came out strong in the third quarter, stretching its lead to more than 10 points. However, Shandong narrowed the gap to three points in the final quarter but Guangsha eventually sealed the victory with a three-pointer from Lin Zhijie.

Hu was the largest contributor to the victory, scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds to overshadow his international teammate Courtney Fortson, who had 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

With the help of Darius Adams' 41 points and a dozen assists, defending champion Xinjiang smashed Tianjin 136-108 at home. In a really impressive performance, the outstanding Adams made sure that Tianjin couldn't stop him without conceding a foul.

Elsewhere, Shanghai beat Jilin 121-103, Guangzhou saw off Beijing 106-96, Guangdong edged Aolong 112-108, and Sichuan beat Shanxi 132-124. Further afield, Jiangsu crushed Tongxi 116-100 and Fujian lost to Shenzhen 108-111. Enditem
