Spanish shares drop 0.38 pct Monday

MADRID, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares lost on Monday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 down 0.38 percent or 39.80 points, to close at 10,555.60 points.

A total of 23 of the selected 35 large companies lost in the day.

Spanish bank Bankia lost 4.31 percent, the top loser, followed by electricity company Endesa and gas natural infrastructure company Enagas that fell 3.23 percent and 3.07 percent respectively.

Chemical and pharmaceutical company Grifols advanced 0.96 percent, the top gainer of the day. Steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal rose 0.62 percent and world's leading retailer Inditex was up 0.59 percent. Enditem
