Indian markets close higher

MUMBAI, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets closed higher Monday. Sensex ended at fresh record highs as private banks, auto, technology and metals continued to support the market whereas PSU banks, FMCG and select pharma stocks were under pressure.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 36,283.25, 232.81 points or 0.65 percent up compared to its previous close at 36,050.44. Enditem
