NAIROBI, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Monday.

-- Police in Nairobi are set for a showdown with the National Super Alliance (NASA) at Uhuru Park on Tuesday over the planned swearing-in of leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as people's president and deputy respectively.

Police bosses were on Sunday categorical that no meeting will take place at Uhuru Park or within Nairobi while the opposition stuck to its guns, saying the ceremony is unstoppable and will go on as scheduled. The hard-line stance by both parties sets the stage for a major confrontation in the center on Tuesday. (Daily Nation)

-- Communication Authority has denied allegations that it is implementing recommendations of a competition study that seeks to solve the dominance issue in the country without involving the public. (The Star)
