Dollar changes hands in upper 108 yen range in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 108 yen range in early deals in Tokyo Monday, largely in line with its levels at the end of last week in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 108.64-65 yen compared with 108.54-64 yen in New York and 109.03-04 yen at 5 p.m. on Friday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.2428-2428 dollars and 135.03-07 yen against 1.2426-2436 dollars and 134.98-135.08 yen in New York and 1.2474-2475 dollars and 136.01-05 yen in late Friday afternoon trade in Tokyo. Enditem
